Scarlets Choir in Tune with Healthy Lifestyle

On Saturday, March 29, The Scarlets Choir stars showed how in tune they are with healthy lifestyles. The Scarlets Choir, competitors in S4C’s popular Codi Canu series, joined a special stroll organised by the rugby region’s Fit Fans initiative which promotes healthy living.

Scarlets rugby development officer Chris Spriggs said: "It’s a highly visible and inclusive way of showing our commitment to healthy lifestyles. We’ve already got some enthusiastic supporters signed up for Fit Fans – and they’ll really appreciate the choir’s support.

Time to Team up for Tag

Sports fans aged from 18 to more than 60 have been enjoying skill sessions offered by the Llanelli Scarlets.
The region has been running a six-week course in the non-contact game of tag rugby and sees adult recruits enjoy tag rugby sessions on the Stradey training pitches. Scarlets rugby development officers are in charge of the sessions.

The new course is part of the Scarlets’ Fit Fans initiative. The sessions include skills tuition in handling, reactions, running and dodging, decision-making and tag leadership. The £20 course fee will secure a free ticket for this season’s last Scarlets home game, against Edinburgh.

Overall, the feedback illustrates a positive approach to getting fit in a friendly atmosphere. Furthermore, the oldest recruit is 73 year old Arthur Hendy who has endorsed the scheme through his positive comments and his aim to attend future sessions.
