The Scarlets Community Rugby Department in conjunction with Link Telecom is committed to helping youngsters understand the importance of leading a healthy active lifestyle.
To help achieve this, we are pleased to confirm that we are holding a series of free rugby activity sessions in various areas, which has been designed to benefit pupils.
These activities include:
- Intro to Scarlets/Cochyn visit.
- Three workshops which cover a healthy living interactive presentation from brace’s – our new healthy lifestyle partner. A bread making presentation and what foods to eat and when.
- Fun/skill sessions.
- Player appearance.
- Healthy Lifestyle Question and Answer session.
- Each child taking part will receive a certificate of achievement, complimentary ticket voucher (adult and child) with matchday parade and an information pack from brace’s to take home which will include a fun CD, worksheets, money off coupon and pencils.
- The school will also receive a kit bag, certificate, flag and an invite to the Amman valley Tag festival.
Pupils of Trimsaran Community Primary School and Ysgol Gymraeg Brynsierfel enjoyed special training sessions held by development officers from Stradey Park.

The events, at Trimsaran on February 19 and 20 and at Brynsierfel on February 21, were part of a schools activity and healthy living course being promoted by the region. Further visits have since been made to Bryn Teg Primary School on February 18 and Furnace Community Primary School on February 22.
The rugby region’s head of community, Jon Daniels, said: “We hope that, with the benefit of our advice and guidance, the pupils will continue to enjoy their rugby.”
Garan Evans visited Brynsierfel School along with Llanelli scarlets mascot ‘Cochyn’. The pupils had a chance to put their questions to Garan on healthy living and what the players eat in their daily routine.
