An evening of pure rugby nostalgia is promised during an audience with Llanelli rugby legend Phil Bennett at the Diplomat Hotel later this month.
The former British Lions, Wales, and Llanelli stand-off and captain will recall stories, memories, amusing anecdotes and opinion about his long and distinguished career in rugby, from that historical day in Stradey Park in 1972, when the Scarlets defeated the All Blacks and the Llanelli pubs ran dry, to his first international cap against France in Paris at the age of 20 when he became the first ever Welsh substitute in Welsh international rugby, and two Lions tours, South Africa in 1974 and captain of the 1977 tourists to New Zealand.
The evening, on Thursday, February 18, is being held in aid of The Ray Gravell And Friends Charitable Trust, of which Phil is a Trustee, and will include a hot buffet and further entertainment from comedian Colin Price and the WEDGES.
Tickets, priced at £18, are now on sale for the event and can be obtained from the Diplomat Hotel (01554 756156) or from the Charitable Trust office on 01554 758171.
