The districts that took part in the new Scarlets initiative run by the region’s community department were Mynydd Mawr School Under 11’s, Carmarthen Schools Under 11’s and Pembrokeshire Schools Under 11’s.
The young players enjoyed a round robin game on the Scarlets main training pitch at Parc y Scarlets and then took part in a pre-match parade around the ground.
Scarlets community officer, Justin Lloyd said: “It was a great evening, we had a brilliant group of youngsters from the districts who really enjoyed their rugby and then being part of the big match night against Ulster, with every child that took part receiving a ticket for the game from the Scarlets.
“It was the first time we have done this type of community event and it was a great success with a large crowd of family and friends watching the children. We now hope to be able to expand this idea and do more pre-match junior games at our future home fixtures. Our thanks to all those who took part and made it such a great evening for all.”
