
They dominated the first half with a stern defence and an attitude to win every collision. For the first time this season, the Scarlets were made to look poor.
With handling errors and bad decision making it allowed the Dragons to gain momentum. But true to form, the defence of the Scarlets stayed strong.

In the second half, the Dragons still maintained the intensity level, but ill discipline started to creep into their game. The Scarlets closed the gap with a try from scrum half Gareth George, Jordan Williams converted. But with an increasing penalty count to the Scarlets, the Dragons were able to increase their lead.
In the last quarter of the game, with the score at 10 -12 to the Dragons, it seemed that the Scarlets would lose their first game, especially when the Dragons scored form a scrum in the Scarlets 22. But with only two minutes remaining, the Dragons ill – discipline cost them dear.
Their open side flanker was red carded following an off the ball incident. Jordan Williams place the ball in the corner for a Scarlets line out.
A bulldog charge from prop Gethin twbs, was gathered by man of the match Daniel Thomas who powered his way over the line. The conversion would mean a draw game. From wide out, and under great pressure, Jordan Williams kicked the conversion.
