The skillful Samoan international, who has won 11 test caps between 2005 and 2009, has impressed in the Guinness Premiership with his dynamic running and flair on the pitch. Fa'amatuainu, who can play anywhere in the back row or second row and is expected to be an impressive bolster to Nigel Davies' Scarlets squad.
Fa'amatuainu has made 98 appearances for Bath since joining the club in 2006, scoring 15 tries. Born in New Zealand, Jonny has played for his native Manu Samoa seven times and made his international debut aged 22. He has played in all back five positions in the scrum.
The Scarlets had been waiting for clearance to select him following his transfer on from Bath RFC, which required him to switch his current Visa application. The final rubber-stamp came through from all the relevant authorities late this morning and Davies has opted to bring Fa'amatuainu onto the bench for this evening's home fixture.
