Kevin was delighted to discover he was the landmark 4,000th Scarlets supporter to join the Scarlets family - signing up for the exciting season ahead with his son Tomos (17) and daughter Lydia (14). Brought up in Tumble, now living in Bryncoch, Neath, Kevin said that he was excited about the future at Parc y Scarlets and that the family really looked forward to the big European encounters that lay ahead.
He said: "I've been a season ticket holder for the last three years with my children and we have really enjoyed ourselves. The offers this year were great, reasonably priced and there is a lot to be optimistic about in my view."
He said one of his greatest Scarlets memories was the last-ever game at Stradey Park which showed the world the true heart and soul of the Scarlets rugby community and what it meant to so many people.
"That will always be one of my fondest memories of being a Scarlet and I can remember children trying to take home some lumps of the turf from the famous pitch at that last game as a reminder, it was a very emotional and amazing night."
Kevin added that the buzz of the new season was starting to really take hold now he said: "When I came down to the stadium to buy the tickets I started to get really excited about the new season, there are some great games ahead. We come down with a group of friends who are also season ticket holders so it's always a good afternoon or evening out.
"Our family's favourite players are David Lyons and Stephen Jones and it's great to see Matthew Rees as captain this year, there are very experienced players in amongst the bright new talent so think it should interesting to see how far we can go."
The Scarlets have recently launched a new 'Refer a friend' scheme which will see season ticket holders receive a £25 Scarlets voucher to spend at Parc y Scarlets for every person they introduce to the 2010/2011 season ticket scheme.
Scarlets Commercial Director, Rupert Moon said: "We've been really encouraged with our sales this summer and there are still time to buy ahead of our first home game on September 11th so anyone who hasn't had a chance to have a look at what's on offer come and see us in the ticket office or give us a ring. With an extra two games this season, it is always best to buy ahead and you can save a huge amount on match day prices.
"Our indoor Supporters Village, the 'Canolfan Delme Thomas' is something which no other rugby region can offer - we're the only ones that have a bespoke 1,500 person indoor venue for games and we are now working out how we can make it even better, its been such a huge success.
"The good news is that we will welcome so many new season ticket holders as our members this season. We've worked really hard to engage more with our communities and have had a busy summer out and about and hopefully spread the message about the good things that are happening here and reignite some of our lapsed support."
This year sees the Scarlets first-ever 12-month payment plan allowing season ticket holders to spread the cost with 12 monthly payments. There is the £99 adult season ticket - the best value in Wales, plus the entry price point for a family of four - that's two adults and two children is under £200. There are no set family areas at Parc y Scarlets so families can choose where they want to sit and secondary school children (U18s) have the chance to buy a ticket for the enclosure for £16 for a whole season - that's a £1 a game.
