And supporters across the region of all ages have given the new Scarlet home and Tinplate Blue away shirts by Burrda a big thumbs up, with lots of positive feedback being received by the region from fans.
The new-look kits were first revealed at a hugely successful launch event of the new playing kit in early August with the players taking to the catwalk to give supporters their first glimpse of the new season's shirts.
With supporters anxious to get their hands on the first arrivals, retail store staff at Parc y Scarlets had a busy Saturday helping customers with their purchases of the home and away kit.
For those who pre-ordered a shirt at the kit launch, orders will be ready for collection later this week ready for the Scarlets opening home clash in the Magners League against Connacht this Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
Scarlets Commercial Director, Rupert Moon said: "We are really pleased that the new look kits have gone down so well with our supporters. The new away kit colour was quite a statement - we wanted it to be distinctive and to create something new and exciting for our supporters this season. It's all part of our message that we are true to our heritage whilst looking forward to the future and taking pride in our team."
The passionate Scarlets red is proudly on display on the home shirt and this year's away shirt is blue graphite - or 'tinplate blue' as the region is calling it - a tribute back to the original, first-ever Llanelli kit and the region's industrial past.
The first colours that the club played in were dark blue which date back to 1879 when Llanelli moved to Stradey Park. In 1881 - 1882, it changed to rose and primrose stripes, then to red and chocolate quarters before Llanelli first took to the field in scarlet on 14th April 1884. All of which is chartered in Gareth Hughes' "One Hundred Years of Scarlet."
The Scarlets will also have a new Ray Gravell & Friends Charitable Trust heritage clothing range available in store soon, which all ages will wear with pride, knowing that each purchase will help raise funds for one of the region's best known and loved charities which supports good causes all across West Wales.
