The newspapers which champion their local communities will help promote the Scarlets rugby season to attract new and existing supporters with a series of joint promotional campaigns ahead of key matches and events at Parc y Scarlets.
The Scarlets' newspaper media partners will work with the region on an exciting season-long programme of news, exclusive promotional activity and events to keep supporters in touch with the very latest developments.
As part of the new partnership, the Llanelli Star logo will appear on the front of the Scarlets shorts this season as well as high profile visibility around the ground.
A range of exciting and unique initiatives between the two partners will follow throughout the 2010/2011 season including joint initiatives to benefit the two partners' nominated charity The Ray Gravell & Friends Charitable Trust, Scarlets community pages, community awards and some 'money can't buy' exclusive Scarlets match day competitions.
Scarlets' Commercial Director, Rupert Moon said: "Our off-field activity is all about strengthening and building community links throughout the region and that includes strong partnerships with the media that serve our communities so well. It's great news that our media partners are signing-up with us again to help promote the Scarlets in South and West Wales.
"We both want to operate at the heart of our communities and celebrate everything that is great about this region. We are committed to investing in and promoting great Welsh rugby talent and the results of our ethos to develop from within are really starting to show now as some new Scarlets stars are born!
"We want everyone to be proud of our team and our campaigns with our media partners will look to excite our supporters, ensure they are kept up-to-date with the latest news as well as offering some unique and exciting offers exclusively for readers."
The Star's Commercial Director, Paul Jenkins said: "The Llanelli Star is delighted to once again support the Scarlets after a successful partnership last season and will continue to strengthen its commercial partnership with this great region. It will give our readers the opportunity to have access to exclusive competitions, news and offers that can't be found anywhere else.
"The Star has been at the heart of the local community for more than 100 years and is ideally situated to promote and support the Scarlets, whose community-spirited values and heritage mirror our own.
"We wish the Scarlets all the very best for the season ahead and we will take great pride in backing this exciting team of players who are showing such great potential."
