Amongst the absentees from the Scarlets side were the three members of the new leadership group, captain Matthew Rees, vice captain Stephen Jones and captain in the wings David Lyons.

The fixture was an opportunity for Davies and his new-look coaching set-up which includes Wales Assistant Coach Robin McBryde and former Scarlets stalwarts Mark Jones and Simon Easterby to see some of the new young recruits on the playing field.

The young Scarlets side had plenty of ball in hand in the first half but couldn't quite manage to close the deal on a few occasions.
