It's an early penalty for Leinster and they show early intent by kicking to touch not at the posts. They get clean possesion and the Scarlets line is under early attack. The defence holds up well but Scarlets are penalised again 5 metres out. This time, it's a case of going for the posts, out on the right near the 22. It's over, by Ian Madigan and it's Scarlets 0 Leinster 3 after 5 minutes.
Leinster are looking lively, Boss and Nacewa in particular, but the Scarlets are soaking up any pressure thrown at them. Biggest cheer so far for a lovely in-your-face-hand-off by Liam Williams on Fionn Carr, a crakcer! This is good from the Scarlets now Rob McCusker catches an attempted chip over his head and starts a Scarlets attack. The ball moving out wide, Scarlets are awarded a penalty. From the lineout it's siege time on the Leinster line. Scarlets put in at a scrum and it's a strong shove. It's over the line by George Earle, no it's not, back out again to Scott Williams who does cross! Good try! Aled Thomas converts, Scarlets 7 Leinster 3 after 20 minutes.
Theres a kick up field for George North to chase, the bounce just beating him into touch. But the Scarlets are on the front foot again. Lovely break from Gareth Maule, through tackles and into their 22, where the attack continues. Lovely play with ball moving through the hands and across the field. Andy Fenby is stopped just short, the ball's back out to Rhodri Jones who charges for the line and also is stopprd just short. Then it's Liam Williams kicking ahead, caught by George North who slips it back to Liam and the Scarlets are off again.
From their counter attack, Kelly wins great turnover ball for the Scarlets and a Scott Williams kick out his team back in their 22. Then it's that man Liam Williams again in a move which goes from right to left and back right again, ending in the live-wire full back crossing for a try which Aled Thomas converts. Scarlets 14 Leinster 3 after 27 minutes.
Ken Owens and Scott Williams set up two more great moves from depth and Kelly is again prominent. Leinster haven't done much in a while, but with five minutes of the half left, they launch a concerted attack which sees them get a penalty which Madigan converts. 14-6 is how the half ended.
There's no more exciting a way for a half to start than seeing a blazing run from George North and that's exactly what we got. He went through so many of their players like a knife through butter. The ball gets back to Liam out left and he nearly crosses. Back to Rhodri Jones and he nearly crosses before the ball is recycled back and spread out wide - back in to the hands of George North who finishes the move he started quite nicely indeed thank you very much! Aled's kick is over and it's 21-6 after 3 minutes of the second half.
Scarlets keep the pressure up with the backs building on the oh, so solid platform the forwards are securing them Liam again is in the thick of things, kick ahead which breaks for Aaron Shingler to gather and he goes on a lovely run through their midfield, into their 22. Great support play sees Andy Fenby crossing in the corner and it's bonus point time! Aled's kick makes it 28 - 6 after ten minutes. Scott Williams goes off and Jonathan Davies comes on.
With sounds of Calon Lan breakoing from the North Stand, there;'s a good feeling about this game all round - all round from the Scarlets side of course!
Matthew and Phil John come on for Ken and Rhodri and then Timani comes on for George Earle, who very sportingly acknowledged the crowds warm reception for him as he comes off the field. The game goes through a somehat quiet phase for a while with penalties and errors creeping in. With twenty minutes left, Rhys comes on for Aled. This is Rhys 100th game for the club. It's Leinster pressure for a while and Devin Toner scroes a try for them under the posts. 28-13.
Captain McCusker goes off to be replaced by Kieran Murphy and within a minute of being on, he's in the thick of it. He crosses in the left corner and after a little bit of help from his friend the TMO, the ref awards the try. The conversion is just wide. 33-13
With Manu going off and Samson Lee coming on, there's still a lot of enterpise in the Scarlets play. They're obviously not content to coast to the end whistle. Scarlets steal possession and break on the counter attack thriugh Rhys who finds George North in support. He shows the Leinstermen a clean pair of heals and crosses for his second try! Rhys' kick is over and it's 40 -13.
This is lovely play now, end of the game or not. Gareth Maule this time breaks down field, the ball gets out to Andy Fenby and he's over. Anything George can do Andy can do as well - two tries apiece for the Scarlets wingers. 45-13 with the full 80 nearly up. There's just enought time for Leinster to go on the attack again and they score a late try under the posts through Madigan, who also converts to make it Scarlets 45 Leinster 20 at the end of a really good game for the Scarlets boys.
