Player Biog
Rhys Priestland joined the Scarlets at the age of 18 having played for Llandeilo RFC and Carmarthen Athletic. Born in Carmarthen and a former pupil of Ysgol Gyfun Bro Myrddin, his first choice position is at fly half but also plays at fullback.
With Stephen Jones away on International duty Priestland was handed an opportunity to show his ability and develop his game at outside half, and made the most of the opportunity. He has also represented Wales at Under 19 and Under 20 levels and won his first full international cap during the 2011 Six Nations campaign in the 24–6 win against Scotland as a second-half replacement.
He was called up to replace Steven Jones at outside half before kick-off against England in a World Cup warm-up match in August 2011 and established himself as the first choice number 10 for Wales at the 2011 Rugby World Cup and the Grand Slam winning 6 Nations team of 2012.
